Pallets and Custom Thermoforming for Food Processing and Handling

Cheese Log Trays: Thermoformed Tray DesignVantage solved a problem plaguing a cheese log producer with a vacuum formed food grade olefin. The original packaging involved PVC tubing that stood upright in containers. The tubing was slightly larger than the cheese logs to facilitate placement of the cheese in the trays. Due to this difference in size, the cheese would settle during shipment thus creating a larger diameter log at one end. This condition was undesirable to the end user as it created different weights per inch.  By going to the thermoformed tray design, the logs were able to lie down horizontally, thus eliminating the settling during shipping.

Additionally, the original design did not allow for a good return ratio at 1:1. The new design allowed for a 6:1 return ratio, thus allowing for a huge transportation savings.
